Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a broad term for technologies that replicate or substitute human intellectual capabilities—such as judgment, reasoning, learning, and creativity—in computers. Also known as "AI," it is now widely used in many everyday products and services. Rather than simply following pre-defined rules, AI can learn patterns from vast amounts of data and make autonomous judgments and predictions. The currently dominant technologies of "machine learning" and "deep learning" have driven practical applications across many fields, including image recognition, natural language processing, speech recognition, chatbots, and autonomous driving. The developmental stages of AI can be broadly divided into two: • Narrow AI: AI optimized for a specific purpose (e.g., facial recognition, translation, Go-playing AI) • Artificial General Intelligence (AGI): AI with cognitive capabilities equal to or greater than humans (still at the research stage) Once confined to specialized research domains, AI now permeates every aspect of daily life—voice assistants on smartphones, web search, ad recommendations, and more—and as public interest in "what AI is," "how it works," and "what it can do" continues to grow, it is becoming ever more deeply embedded in society.
