What is OpenFate?
OpenFate is a fortune-telling service that first calculates charts for BaZi (Four Pillars), Zi Wei Dou Shu, Western astrology, Vedic astrology, Human Design and Sukuyo (birth mansion) with fixed calculation rules, and then has AI explain only those calculated results. The AI never rewrites the calculated chart, and the screens show "chart data" and "interpretation" separately. Chart creation and one analysis a day are free, and compatibility readings, six divination tools such as tarot, and an auspicious-day calendar are also available. Japanese interface available. Paid options are Pro (¥4,800/month) and Pro Max (¥8,900/month) subscriptions, or one-time points (from ¥1,200 for 250 points). Operated by OPENFATE AI LLC in the United States.

About "OpenFate"
What is OpenFate?
OpenFate is a fortune-telling service that lets you build charts for BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny), Zi Wei Dou Shu, Western astrology, Vedic astrology, Human Design and Sukuyo (your birth mansion) for free, and then have AI explain the results. The interface is available in Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Korean, and the service is operated by OPENFATE AI LLC in the United States.
What sets it apart is that it splits the work into a fixed order: "calculate first, then let AI interpret." Your birth date, birth time and birthplace are turned into a chart by a rule engine with explicit calculation rules, and the AI only explains that result without rewriting it. A general-purpose chatbot asked to "work out my BaZi chart" can get the calculation itself wrong; OpenFate does not leave the calculation to AI.

What is calculated, and what the AI explains
OpenFate produces its results in three steps. Knowing where the calculation ends and the AI's writing begins makes the results easier to read.
The screens follow the same principle, separating chart data, traditional interpretation and the AI's explanation. For BaZi you move through the Day Master, Five Elements, Ten Gods, luck pillars and annual pillars; for Zi Wei Dou Shu through the Life and Body Palaces, the 12 palaces, main stars and the Four Transformations; for Western astrology from the Sun, Moon and Ascendant to the 12 houses and major aspects. For "integrated readings," which calculate two or three systems independently and compare them, OpenFate explicitly states that similar themes add perspective but "do not establish empirical reliability."
How to use it
-
Pick a system and enter your birth data
Choose BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Western astrology or another system and enter your birth date, time and place. Creating the chart is free. There is also a birth-time rectification entry point for people who don't know their exact time.
-
View the calculated chart
The chart produced by the rule engine is displayed. At this stage it contains no AI interpretation.
-
Read the AI explanation or report
The AI explains the result on themes such as career, love and marriage, and wealth. The free plan allows one analysis, 10 standard chats and 2 deep chats per day.
-
Check compatibility and timing, and ask questions
Compare two people's birth data for compatibility, or check daily tendencies with Today's Fortune and the auspicious-day calendar. Dig into anything you're curious about in the AI chat.

Reviews and reputation
The official website displays many comments from registered users. Many praise how readable the explanations are ("easy to follow even without knowing the jargon," "strengths and weaknesses are color-coded") and the simple interface. However, the comments shown are selected by the site itself, and whether a reading "feels accurate" is a personal impression. OpenFate itself does not guarantee accuracy or outcomes, so it is best enjoyed as a tool for self-reflection or a conversation starter.

How it differs from asking a general chatbot
| Aspect | OpenFate | ChatGPT / Claude (general chat AI) |
|---|---|---|
| Chart calculation | Calculated by a rule engine; the AI doesn't rewrite it | The AI infers it as text, so the calculation can be wrong |
| Supported systems | BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Western/Vedic astrology, Human Design, Sukuyo, plus six tools such as tarot | Will answer anything asked, but has no divination-specific screens or calculation |
| How results are shown | Chart data, traditional interpretation and AI explanation shown separately | Combined into a single answer |
| Compatibility and timing | Compatibility readings, Today's Fortune, auspicious-day calendar | Must be requested one by one |
| Price | Chart creation and one analysis a day free. Pro from ¥4,800/month | Free plans available; paid plans are monthly |
