How the shutdown happened

Animon launched on 25 April 2025 as a Japan-built AI video generation platform specialised in anime. Based on the operator's announcement, the closure ran to this schedule.

What happened to generated content: after the closing date, previously generated videos could no longer be viewed or downloaded. If you had not downloaded them beforehand, there is no way to recover them.

Refunds: membership plans still within their validity period as of 00:00 on 26 January 2026 were refunded in full at the original purchase price, and unused credits and Units were treated the same way. Refunds were processed by 00:00 on 27 January and required no action from users.

Reason given: the operator described it only as "a business operational decision" and published no further detail. As general context, video generation AI carries high GPU costs, so offering it free and unlimited means a growing user base translates directly into growing losses.

4. Generate the video

   Click the "Generate" button, and the AI automatically generates an animated video within minutes.

5. Review and download the video

   Preview the generated video and download it as needed. The free plan displays a watermark.

6. Share your work (optional)

   You can share the generated video on social media and other platforms.
