About "Suno"
How to Use
-
Create an account
Sign up on the official site (suno.com) or the iOS / Android app using a Google, Apple, Discord, or similar account. You can start making songs right away on the free plan.
-
Enter the image of the song you want to make
In "Simple Mode," composition begins simply by entering the mood or theme of the song as a sentence in Japanese. You can specify something like "a wistful J-POP ballad for the end of summer."
-
Specify lyrics, genre, and title (Custom Mode)
If you want finer control, use "Custom Mode" to enter your own lyrics or specify the genre, style, song length, and more. You can also have the AI generate lyrics automatically.
-
Generate and preview
In roughly a few dozen seconds to a minute, several variations of a song with vocals are generated. If you don't like them, you can regenerate as many times as you want.
-
Edit, export, and share
Finish your song by regenerating part of it, extending it further (Extend), or separating parts (stem extraction), then download and share it as an audio track.
Features
-
Generate entire songs from text
Just enter a prompt to automatically generate a polished song complete with melody, accompaniment, vocals, and lyrics.
-
Japanese vocals supported
It can sing naturally with Japanese lyrics, and you can create Japan-oriented genres such as J-POP and anime-song styles.
-
Simple Mode / Custom Mode
Choose between easy automatic composition and full-fledged composition where you specify lyrics and style in detail.
-
Automatic lyric generation
Just convey a theme and the AI proposes lyrics. You can also paste in your own lyrics and have them sung.
-
Song editing, extension, and stem extraction
After generation, you can regenerate a specific section, extend a song, or separate vocal and instrument parts (stem extraction) (higher-tier plans).
-
Suno Studio (music production environment)
The top-tier plan gives you access to an AI-native production environment that supports multitrack editing and MIDI export.
-
Commercial use supported
Songs generated on a paid plan can be used commercially, such as for background music in YouTube or Twitch streams (subject to the plan and terms of service).

Pros & Cons
Pros
- You can create songs with vocals just by entering text, even without musical knowledge
- Supports Japanese lyrics and J-POP/anime-song styles, making it easy to use for domestic purposes
- Generates in seconds and lets you regenerate as many times as you like, so brainstorming is fast
- With a paid plan, you can use songs commercially, such as for streaming background music
Cons
- Songs made on the free plan can't be used commercially
- Because it uses a credit system, large-volume generation requires a higher-tier plan
- Understanding the terms is necessary for the rights and commercial-use scope of AI-generated audio, and fine-grained tweaks can fall short of a professional DAW
Reviews & Reputation
- Creators of background music for videos and streams highly praise the ease of "completing a full song from something as rough as a hummed melody."
- While domestic users rate it highly for "singing naturally even with Japanese lyrics," some note that "adjusting subtle nuances takes a number of attempts."
- Regarding commercial use, the common advice cautions that "a paid plan plus checking the terms is always a prerequisite."
