What happened
On April 28, 2026, Freepik consolidated its brand into Magnific and retired the Freepik name. Magnific was originally the name of an AI upscaler Freepik acquired in May 2024; that brand name was adopted as the name of the whole company.
The reason was that the brands had become too fragmented. Freepik as a stock asset library, Magnific as an AI upscaler, and several AI tools running under their own brands all coexisted inside one company, making the overall picture hard to see from the outside. The rename consolidates them into one.
