Best Corporate Generative AI Training in Japan 2026: 16 Services Compared by Price, Subsidy and Format (Updated for the August Subsidy Revision)

We compare 16 corporate AI and generative AI training services in Japan (Schoo for Business, DMM 生成AI CAMP, Aidemy Business, SIGNATE Cloud, AVILEN, Insource, Trainocate, Kikagaku, Skillup AI, Givery's Track, AI研究所, SHIFT AI for Biz, CrowdWorks, Knowleful, Bytech and the Japan AI Adoption Support Association) using only their official websites: format, price (tax included vs. excluding tax), subsidy guidance and training hours. Includes price ranges per person, per ID per month and for packages, five criteria for choosing, FAQs on small groups and free trials, and an explanation, based on Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare documents, of the August 3, 2026 revision of the Human Resources Development Support Subsidy that made literacy-focused training such as generic prompt-writing ineligible.

You want your employees to be able to use generative AI. But once you start looking for a training provider, you find that many companies do not publish their prices, and the pages are full of subsidy claims such as "up to 75% off" or "effectively 10,000 JPY per person." There is no common yardstick to compare them by.

In this article, we compared 16 corporate AI and generative AI training services on the same criteria, using only the information published on their official websites. We compared training format, price (distinguishing tax included from excluding tax), subsidy information, training hours, and post-training support. For services that do not publish prices, we wrote "Not disclosed" and did not fill the gap with guesses.

We also explain, based on materials from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (厚生労働省), the August 3, 2026 revision of the Human Resources Development Support Subsidy (人材開発支援助成金), Business Expansion Reskilling Support Course (事業展開等リスキリング支援コース), under which literacy-focused training, such as learning how to write general-purpose prompts, is no longer eligible for the subsidy. Some training providers' pages still show pre-revision information.

All information was checked on each company's official website as of October 12, 2026.

Conclusion: the short version in 3 points

If you want to start with a small group, public courses and e-learning with per-person published prices are the easiest entry point (AVILEN e-learning from 11,000 JPY per person, トレノケート AI研修 (Trainocate) public courses from 33,000 JPY per person, インソース 生成AI研修 (Insource) half-day courses from 26,400 JPY per person, all tax included).

If you want to train all employees broadly, per-ID subscription plans are a good fit (Schoo for Business from 1,650 JPY per ID per month, excluding tax; DMM 生成AI CAMP 法人向け from 14,800 JPY per ID per month, excluding tax).

If you plan on using a subsidy, confirm with the Labour Bureau before submitting your training plan whether the content is still eligible after the August 3, 2026 revision (i.e., whether it is training directly tied to job duties). Literacy-focused training is no longer eligible under the Business Expansion Reskilling Support Course.

What changed with the August 2026 subsidy revision

The subsidy most commonly used for AI training is the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Human Resources Development Support Subsidy (人材開発支援助成金), "Business Expansion Reskilling Support Course" (事業展開等リスキリング支援コース). It covers part of the cost of training needed for new businesses or DX, as well as part of the wages paid during training. It is a time-limited measure running until the end of FY2026 (March 31, 2027).

Cost subsidy
SMEs 75% / large companies 60%
Wage subsidy
Per person per hour: SMEs 1,000 JPY / large companies 500 JPY (no wage subsidy for e-learning, correspondence, or subscription-based training)
Main requirements
Covers employees insured under employment insurance. At least 10 hours of OFF-JT. Training plan must be submitted 6 months to 1 month before the training start date
Cap per person (SMEs)
10 to under 100 hours: 300,000 JPY / 100 to under 200 hours: 400,000 JPY / 200 hours or more: 500,000 JPY (e-learning and correspondence: 150,000 JPY)

The August 3, 2026 revision changed the following two points.

01Literacy-focused training is no longer eligible

Among DX and GX training, training that is only indirectly necessary for job duties, or that is commonly necessary for any working person regardless of occupation, is no longer eligible for the subsidy. The Ministry's materials give the following examples.

  • Eligible — Training for sales staff on how to use generative AI to draft the structure of product proposals, generate text, and revise it
  • Not eligible — Training on how to write general-purpose prompts for using generative AI
  • Not eligible — Training on the concept of DX, an overview of digital technologies, or approaches to data utilization

02E-learning limited to once per fiscal year

The same worker can receive subsidies for up to 3 training programs per fiscal year, of which e-learning (including combinations with other formats) is now limited to once per fiscal year. The count starts with training plans submitted on or after August 3.

Many training providers advertise "up to 75% with subsidies," but among the 16 services we examined, only Trainocate (トレノケート) mentioned this revision on its official pages. A common company-wide curriculum that starts with "prompt basics" may be judged ineligible after the revision. If you are budgeting on the assumption of a subsidy, organize the training content and the trainees' job duties, then check with the competent Labour Bureau before submitting your training plan.

Other options that may be available are the same subsidy's Human Resources Development Course (人材育成支援コース) (cost subsidy from 45% for SMEs) and the Investment in People Promotion Course (人への投資促進コース). Within the latter, "subscription-based training" (定額制訓練) using subscription training services provides a 60% cost subsidy (SMEs), up to 20,000 JPY per person per month, and "advanced digital talent training" (高度デジタル人材訓練), equivalent to IT Skill Standard levels 3–4, provides a 75% cost subsidy (SMEs).

Typical prices

Arranging the published prices by billing unit gives the following (as of October 2026).

01Per person (public courses, e-learning)

Half-day to one-day public courses are mostly 26,000–39,000 JPY per person (tax included).

  • From 11,000 JPY — AVILEN e-learning (tax included)
  • From 17,600 JPY — Trainocate e-learning (tax included)
  • From 26,400 JPY — Insource half-day public course (tax included)

  • 38,500 JPY — AI研究所 (AI Kenkyujo) 2-day public course (tax included)

02Per ID per month (subscription)

The more trainees, the lower the cost per person, but there are minimum ID counts and initial fees.

  • From 14,800 JPY/month — DMM 生成AI CAMP 法人向け (excluding tax, minimum 20 people)

03Per person (packages designed around subsidy use)

These bundle 10+ hours of training and cost from 88,000 JPY to the 300,000s JPY per person. Official pages also show the effective cost after subsidies.

How to choose without regret: 5 criteria

Criterion 1: Format (who teaches, and where)

Public courses are taken together with trainees from other companies, and you can sign up from one person. On-site (single-company) training is held for your employees only; it is easier to tailor the material to your own work, but pricing is by quote. E-learning and subscriptions become cheaper the more people use them, but have no effect if people do not actually progress. Check whether progress management and live sessions are included.

Criterion 2: Target audience (all employees or specific roles)

To raise the baseline across all employees, a common curriculum covering everything from literacy to practical use at work is a good fit. If you want results in specific roles such as planning, sales, or engineering, choose a service with role-specific courses or customization. Even when using subsidies, content directly tied to job duties fits the post-revision requirements better.

Criterion 3: Pricing unit

The unit differs by service: per person, per session, per ID per month, per company, and so on. Decide the number of trainees and the period first, then compare total costs. Some subscriptions have a minimum number of IDs (e.g., 20 IDs), and some packages have a minimum number of people (e.g., 10 people).

Criterion 4: How subsidies are handled

Check which course the official information refers to, whether application support is provided (such as referrals to a labor and social security attorney), and who bears the cost if the subsidy is not granted. For example, CrowdWorks' terms state that the obligation to pay training fees remains even if the subsidy is not paid. Whether a provider mentions the August 2026 revision is also a useful indicator.

Criterion 5: Post-training support

Whether employees can use AI from the day after training depends on the environment and the support available after the course. Check the duration of Q&A and hands-on support, and whether you can keep using the generative AI tools used in the training (Knowleful provides its own generative AI chat free for six months).

Frequently asked questions

What is the typical cost of corporate AI training?

Based on published prices, half-day to one-day public courses cost 26,000–39,000 JPY per person (tax included), e-learning from 11,000 JPY per person, subscriptions 1,650–14,800 JPY per ID per month (excluding tax), and 10+ hour packages designed around subsidy use from 88,000 JPY to the 300,000s JPY per person (as of October 2026). On-site training customized for your company was quoted individually by all 16 services in this article.

Can subsidies be used for AI training?

The Business Expansion Reskilling Support Course (事業展開等リスキリング支援コース) of the Human Resources Development Support Subsidy (人材開発支援助成金) and others may be available. However, under the August 3, 2026 revision, literacy-focused training that applies regardless of occupation, such as how to write general-purpose prompts or the concept of DX, is no longer eligible under that course. The training must be directly tied to job duties, and the training plan must be submitted 6 months to 1 month before the training starts. Check eligibility with the competent Labour Bureau.

Is e-learning training eligible for subsidies?

It can be, but under the Business Expansion Reskilling Support Course there is only a cost subsidy and no wage subsidy, with a cap of 150,000 JPY per person for SMEs. For training plans submitted on or after August 3, 2026, the same employee can receive a subsidy for e-learning only once per fiscal year. For subscription training services, subscription-based training under the Investment in People Promotion Course (60% of costs for SMEs, up to 20,000 JPY per person per month) is another option.

Can small groups sign up?

Public courses and e-learning with per-person published prices (Insource, Trainocate, AVILEN, AI研究所, etc.) accept sign-ups from one person. Some subscriptions require at least 20 IDs (Schoo for Business, DMM 生成AI CAMP 法人向け), and some packages require at least 10 people (Knowleful, 日本AI導入支援協会).

Is there AI training you can try for free?

SIGNATE Cloud offers a 10-day free trial, Aidemy Business offers a free trial only to companies that have a consultation, and Schoo for Business advertises a free trial. Trainocate offers training managers a trial enrollment in public courses at 50% off (conditions apply).
